my entire cd collection got stolen. i'm not sure exactly when... but i know that i had my cd case in the car, and it's not there now. the only cd i still have is the relient k christmas album. so dave, i'm sorry... but i might be forced to listen to it out of season, just because of sheer desperation. the only good news is that i have all of my music backed up on my computer, but even so there's something about having the original cd's that a file on the computer (or even a burned cd) can't duplicatesigh.
on a completely unrelated note, i went to TWO churches last sunday. how's that for hyper-religiosity? i decided to skip sunday school (gasp!) at my church, and instead visited the catholic church around the corner. i hadn't been to a mass in a long while, so it was really cool to attend one again. if you haven't ever been to a catholic church, i highly recommend it. it'll open your eyes to a different perspective of worship; a lot more reverent, a lot more ritualistic, and strongly steeped in tradition and history. i sort of re-realized too just how many facets from our church's worship service are drawn from the orthodox tradition (which i really like). so anyways, i pulled off the catholic-protestant double switch on sunday morning, which i guess could be construed to be very non-irish of me... but hey, i'm only a quarter green-blooded, so what can i say?

It was good to hear a fellow christian not bashing Catholics. I hate it when they do that. It's like because they have some things right we get more on them for having some stuff wrong than the people who have it all wrong. Anyway, agreed.
thanks... i think you make a good point about criticizing those who are "close but not quite" more so than those who are way off the mark. truth be told, there's a pretty amazing amount of common beliefs shared by protestants and catcholics alike; such as the apostle's creed, just to name a major one. and yet common points of belief like that are often obscured by, quite frankly, much less vital bits of doctrine
it seems to me that there's three main different emhpasis' in denominations;
baptists/protestants/evangelicals/etc: God the Son
catholics/orthodox traditions: God the Father
pentacostal/charismatic: God the Spirit
all that to say, we could stand to learn from other traditions' teachings and concentrations on the other (often ignored) parts of the God-head.
