winter? really?
our vcr is dead. it's been around for just over 20 years, but it finally showed enough signs of dementia for us to retire it. basically, it tried to eat a vhs tape. not a good thing. i had to take the whole dang thing apart just to get it to release the tape from it's celluloid-thirsty jaws. so now we're fully immersed in the digital world... our last piece of 80's analog technology is officially down for the countthe reason i was watching a tape at all was because i decided to get re-certified in CPR and first aid. my mom's a certified AHA instructor, so i figured "hey, how about i take advantage of her some more and make her teach me this stuff for free!" and it worked, strangely enough. but now i have to find somewhere to finish watching the tape before i can be actually certified... thus my current technological dilemna. does anyone even have VCR's anymore? probably not many people do. i sure don't think we still need one, so i guess i'll have to go over to someone's house to watch a video about giving CPR and using an AED and stuff like that. and the acting is great... a barrel of laughs. i love cheesy instructional videos
the olympics start tonight. i think that i prefer the winter olympics to the summer, because of events like the bobsled, skeleton, luge, speed skating, ski jump, snowboardcross, hockey, and ice dancing
(kidding about that last one)
but seriously, winter is cool. i love it. my favorite winter olympic events basically resemble some of my favorite seasonal pastimes... on steroids (figuratively speaking). speaking of winter, it'd be pretty swell if, just maybe, we'd actually GET SOME WINTER WEATHER in the next couple months or so. that'd be nice. maybe some snow and ice, stuff like that...
sigh.

there's a VCR at Grammie's. Two, actually.
I actually do have both, come up at the end of the month in all seriousness, lets talk about an interest free loan for gas money...
Alls we have is the dvd on the computer, but Ken's folks (in your "old apartment") have both and they'd be thrilled to have you over. We'd feed you.
