newsflash:

the mighty saab is dead

i got into an accident on wednesday, and the car got smashed up pretty bad. fortunately nobody was hurt, but now my trusty companion is with me no longer. so i'm tooling around in a rental car (for free!) until the insurance company reimburses me for the value of the car

pictures coming soon.

between hanging out with andrew, holding down a job, and dealing with the car situation, this past week has been pretty crazy busy (hence the lack of posts). but it's also been some good times, too... believe it or not i'm actually pretty pumped about the car situation. not that i'm glad it happened, but if it had to it couldn't have come at a better time. God's good like that

now i just need to find a new vehicle... suggestions?

The Saab had no reverse? Bizarre! That must have made parking (and unparking) a real challenge!

I think that since you're working now, you should buy a slightly used 2005 or 2006 Mustang. That way Ken and I can vicariously fulfill our automotive fantasies through you...

My advice would be to decide right now whether you want a vehicle for the next year or two or 6-8 then you can figure out how much you want to allocate toward that purchase and then look at the relative advantages of leasing/buying and figure out what model and trim level are appropriate. I spent countless hours on Edmunds.com and other automotive sites and it was the best decision I made because by the end I had extreme confidence in my decision and no buyer's remorse. BTW: Ben's comment about the Saab being "Decisive" was sheer literary genius.

was the accident your fault or the other person's fault?

hey. i love that a few posts ago you said "you can download it for free!" what a classic line. i was talking about teleporters the other day (i don't know why) and was reminded of the teleproted. remember that one time we watched all 3 LOTR in a row? that was intense. sorry to hear about the saab. glad you're ok. hope you find another trusty ride soon. and a monkey falls over in march.
