five days

it’s a rare combination of events that brings about such a serendipitous moment as will occur this coming Monday. for not only is it the scheduled beginning of the road trip, but it’s also National Talk Like A Pirate Day! it didn’t even dawn on me until today that both events were scheduled to occur on the same day. how amazingly appropriate is that. two of my favorite events in life: talking like a pirate, and road tripping, occurring on the same day. yarrr, me hearties, this doth make me rum taste all the sweeter

today i cleaned and then varnished the front porch. and if i may say so, it looks cedarliciously beautiful. i also cleaned out my car, and thought about cleaning my room. i’ll probably think about cleaning my room tomorrow, too, as well as paint the bathroom ceiling. despite not working, i’m trying to remain a semi-productive member of society

i watched crash earlier today, and let me just say this: it's an amazingly powerful movie. it deals with race and cultural stereotypes in a way that cuts to the core of the issue, and exposes people for who they really are. well worth a watch. i also just recently saw canadian bacon for the first time, which is pretty much on the complete opposite side of the spectrum from crash. and i think it should be the theme movie for the upcoming road trip... if you've seen it, and know me, you'd understand why. if not, no explanation is necessary, other than the following line from the film: "Like maple syrup, Canada's evil oozes over the United States." precisely why we're invading them soon

more info on national talk like a pirate day can be found here, as well as here. it's actually pretty self-explanatory... just talk like a pirate all day. it's like sunday afternoons at squanto all over again

took awhile to see all the love that's around me
through the highs and lows there's a truth that i've known
and it's You...

man... i can hardly believe you're really going to do this. i'm insanely jealous, by the way. i still don't feel like i've had my chance to be young and crazy. i just graduated and went to work, like the responsible person i am.

i am so unbearably boring.

but you have inspired me... someday i will undertake an epic endeavor of my own. just you wait. it will be A-mazing.

speaking of the epic endeavor...

1. take a camcorder, and make a documentary. i want to see it someday.

2. visit cedarville. for old time's sake. we might have time to pull a cool prank before you leave. or rob the university - using my master keys... bwahaha.

3. send me postcards.

4. be safe.

5. HAVE A BLAST!!! here's to being young and alive. ;-)
